Learning & Growing Together: Practical Parenting with Karen Deerwester
B'nai Torah Congregation Mommy & Me director and BocaParent contributor Karen Deerwester kicks off a series of sessions on effective strategies to handle challenges of parenting toddlers through kindergartners. Sunflower Parent Toolbox
This workshop, lead by Sunflower Creative Arts Creative Director Susan Caruso, will explore how your own instincts can help you become the parent you want to be. Class topics are personalized to the participants. $105 for seven sessions includes child care. Classes are 9:30 to 11 a.m. Feb. 24, March 30 and April 27. Family, Friends, Infant & Child CPR
The class covers CPR, choking, infants and children, plus child safety. Adult CPR is offered after infant & child CPR. It is for members of the general community 14 and older who want to learn CPR but don't need a course completion card or certification. Mommy & Me
The Mommy & Me program, directed by BocaParent 3-Minute Guru contributor Karen Deerwester, at Congregation B'Nai Torah is as much for the parent (or grandparent) as for the child. Classes for several age groups. Register at the temple's website.
Baby & Me
Saturday morning classes with Melanie Bazarte for babies 2 weeks old up to crawling and their parents. Class includes developmental exercises, massage, baby games, multisensory experiences and parent discussion. West Boca Medical Center, 21644 State Road 7. $12 a class, plus $40 onetime registration fee that includes Bazarte's book, Parenting 101. Beginning Baby Care
New moms learn about the basics, such as how to feed their babies, change diapers, develop routines and form sleeping patterns.
